Later in the day, you try to play with your kids, but your body won’t keep up. You end up sitting on the floor, watching them run circles around you, feeling useless and guilty. You used to say yes to everything. Now you cancel most plans before you even make them.

Even small things… answering a text, switching the laundry, remembering what day it is…feel like too much. 

Your toddler is having an afternoon crash-out or is more whiny than usual and you just feel like you are going to lose it or maybe you say you're driving me crazy!

Then you start feeling guilty and thinking you're a bad mom with no patience.

When I was in the trenches of postpartum and my daughter was almost one I remember getting so angry because I was just so tired, mentally and physically. 

My husband works out of town frequently and I was solo-parenting  feeling bitter and resentful of him getting a full nights sleep and free of responsibility.

He didn't have to wake up frequently with a baby, fight her on naptime or deal with a fussy child in the car.

 

I was drinking 2 cups of coffee in the morning and stopping at the drive-through for an ice latte every afternoon.  

Despite eating healthy I was feeling like I was running on fumes.

I was waking up burnout before the day even started and I felt like whole personality change. I even felt like my appearance no longer mattered and went days without washing or fixing my hair just throwing it in a hat, wearing an old t-shirt and leggings. I had no energy for myself.

I was saying no to playdates and barely leaving the house because I had zero motivation. I was purely surviving at this season of my life. 

Motherhood truly felt miserable some days and I felt so guilty for it.

Eventually, I hit a breaking point.


I stopped relying on caffeine and asked myself some deeper questions.

What’s actually draining me?
What does body need?
What’s happening that’s being ignored?

I stopped managing symptoms and started rebuilding my energy from the inside out.

That’s what changed everything. And now, I help other postpartum moms  do the same.
